WHILE a storm has just passed through Scone, the Bureau of Meteorology has said the Upper Hunter won’t experience the heavier rainfalls experienced on the coast today.

During the next 24 hours 5 to 10ml may be expected with the chance of localised thunderstorms delivering 20-30mls in some parts of the region.

North westerly winds are predicted to be between 40km and 60km into the afternoon, possible storms bringing winds up to 90km an hour.

The rest of the outlook for the week is expected to be dry.

Rainfall until 9am this morning:

  • Scone: 0.6ml
  • Aberdeen: 12ml
  • Merriwa: 10ml
  • Murrurundi: 15ml
