Honour for Local Bowler

LOCAL bowls players formed a guard of honour for Mr Earl Dalley today at St Luke’s Anglican Church, Scone.

Earl passed away on December 18 from a heart attack as he driving to visit his daughter in Mackay.

His daughter, Patricia, described him as a loving larrikin dad who made some awesome friends through bowls.

“He made some awesome friends and got to travel to some great places with them,” Patricia said.

George Turnip spoke on behalf of thee NSW RSL bowling association and said he was a fantastic friend to many local bowlers.

“He was a great bloke to play bowls with and have a few beers afterwards and there were always lots of laughs,” George said.

Earl’s son, Greg Dalley, said his dad would have been proud that his friends formed a guard of honour for him.

“Their gesture is much appreciated by the family, it’s quite lovely and dad would be honoured they did it for him,” said Greg.

Greg is survived by his children Richard, Cheryl, Gregory, Warren, Bryan and Patricia and seventeen grandchildren.

Earl’s ashes will be interred at the grave of his wife Bernice at the Scone Lawn Cemetery.
