Accident South of Scone

AMBULANCE were called to an accident approximately 2 kilometres south of Scone on the New England Highway at 11am.

One crew attended and treated a 43 year old male motorcyclist on scene, before transferring him to the Scott Memorial Hospital in Scone.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter has arrived in Scone and will be transporting the patient to the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.

Ambulance have reported the patient had leg injuries and the Westpac have also reported head injuries.

The patient has been described as being in a stable condition.

Live Traffic NSW have advised traffic on the New England Highway is affected in both directions between Gundy Road and Turanville Road.

UPDATE: Traffic is now flowing in both directions on the New England Highway.

Motorists can consider using Moobi – Nandowra – Dartbrook Roads to travel to Aberdeen or Gundy-Glenbawn-Segenhoe Roads.

PLEASE drive with caution on these back roads!
