Audiences and Actors Enjoying Comedies

THE laughter from audiences enjoying the performances of the local dramatic society is inspiring two young actors who are treading the boards for the first time.

Mady Warren and Ellie Tilse are both Year 11 students who jumped at the chance to be part of the Double British performances with the Scone Community Amateur Dramatic Society (SCADS).

“Just performing in front of the audience and their reaction, when you make them laugh it’s always such a good feeling that you have done something to make them feel something,” said Ellie Tilse.

“I really like my character, to be able to make it funny and quirky,” she said.

“I’ve always loved drama just going to the read through was really exciting,” she said.

“I’m really enjoying it and I’m learning so much from working with older actors,” Ellie Tilse said.

Mady Warren said the audience response is making for fun performances.

“It is great when you have such a responsive audience because you feed off it, which is great for the performance,” said Mady Warren.

“I really enjoy doing comedy,” she said.

“In school we don’t do as much script work, so I’ve learnt how to adapt to that acting style and adapting to other actors,” she said.

“It has been really fun,” Mady Warren laughed.
