Barefoot and Bowling

Filed in Recent News by September 26, 2017

IT’s time to get barefoot and bowling for the annual TransCare fundraiser.

Local businesses have once again supported the community event with great prizes and people are registering their teams.

Alan Gordon, chief executive officer of TransCare said the event began 11 years ago at the suggestion of Brian Brown and is still going strong.

“The number of people who attend, the number of people who talk about it and the amount of people who say they had a fabulous time there is growing,” said Mr Gordon.

“The business houses get behind it and we are getting people from Aberdeen and Muswellbrook as well who are supporting and some of the prizes are fabulous,” he said.

“It is our main fundraiser for the year and we often raise $6,000 which is fabulous,” he said.

“The money goes towards TransClub to allow us to take people on social outings and it makes it cheaper for them, so instead of charging say $100 it might only be $20 or $30,” he said.

“There have been trips to Dubbo Zoo, cruises, Butti Barn and some great outings or even just for a lunch or dinner together,” Alan Gordon said.
