Bass Pro at Glenbawn

THIS weekend at Glenbawn Dam the Australian Bass Tournament will hold qualifier 5 of their Pro Series with this round sponsored by BassCat.

Although it is too late to enter you can expect to see some well decked out bass boats from the various sponsored teams in the event.

Nick Price, owner of the local tackle shop in Aberdeen expects fishers from far and wide.

“It’s an Australian Bass Tournament competition and people come from Queensland, all over New South Wales and Victoria,” Nick Price said.

“It has a series of rounds in Queensland dams and Lake St Clair and Lake Glenbawn.

“These are the top bass fishermen in Australia and it has big prize money if you win, you have a boater and a non boater, the boater has the boat and gets paired with a person that doesn’t have a boat then you fish together as a team.

“They all have another job as well but they are semi professional and they are all sponsored by different fishing organizations or fishing gear.

“You will big flash boats, all bass boats, BassCat are the sponsors for this tournament which is type of bass boat,” said Nick Price.

For the spectators fishing starts on Saturday at 6am with weigh in times from 9.30am -11am and at the end of the session at 2pm.

Sunday’s fishing is from 6am to 12pm with only one weigh in at the end of the session.
