The sculpture is a bright blue draught horse standing at 2.2 metres high and made in two sections so that people can walk between the two pieces or it can appear to be emerging into or out of walls.

Artist Nick Adams is still a horse hoof trimmer with an applied science degree who works in wire, fencing mesh, baling twine and other farming materials.

Mr Adams has won several sculptural awards for his horse sculptures most recently the Huon Art Award for Blue Perspective, which is Big Blue’s companion piece.

The sculpture will be on display at the Upper Hunter Shire Council chambers in Scone during April, move to Saunders Honda showroom at 114 Kelly Street during the Horse Festival and be the centre piece for the Council float in the Horse Parade.

Big Blue is also looking for a forever home and interested buyers can contact Jan Sinclair at the Scone Visitor Information Centre: 02 6540 13011.
