Break-ins Last Night

Filed in Recent News by December 19, 2018

THERE were two break-in’s to local businesses in Scone last night.

Sew Scone had a padlock taken and a small amount of cash, while Victoria’s had a back door jimmied open and a window cracked.

Deborah Fergusson, owner of Sew Scone said she was disappointed and frustrated her business was broken into after having had two glass windows broken on her shop front last year.

“They took the padlock and I don’t know what they did with that,” said Ms Fergusson.

“The used the key to open the cash register and used the insert to take the change, there was less than $100,” she said.

“My next door neighbour said his dog started barking at 1:30 in the morning,” she said.

“Last year a guy smashed two windows and he’s had a court order for him to repay but it hasn’t happened,” she said.

“It’s hard enough being in business and I do so much for the community, so it is frustrating that this kind of thing happens,” Deborah Fergusson said.
