Bunnan at NSW Championships

THE Bunnan Polocrosse Club finished in overall second place at the NSW Club Championships hosted by the Cassilis Polocrosse Club at Coolah on the long weekend in June.

Bunnan was represented by seven teams at the Championships with five teams making it through to finals.

While Bunnan’s F Grade Mens team did not make the final they took out all the Horse Prizes in that division with Pete Carrigan winning Best No.1, Lewis Wall winning Best No. 2 and Tom Rossington winning Best No.3.

Bunnan’s C Grade Mens Team were runners-up in its division.

The A Grade Under 12’s also came home with the runners-up award with Angus Rose winning the Best No.1, while sister Sohpia won the Best No. 2.

Bunnans A Grade Mens Team were runners-up in its division with Brad Wamsley and his horse Efficient won the Best No. 1 and Best Presented ASH.

Bunnan’s Under 16 Junior Team made the final against NEGS and also came home with the runner-up award with Jillian Rose winning the Best No. 2.

The A Grade Womens Team made it through to the final against Galloping Gully.

This was a very close final that saw the Bunnan girls prevail to bring home the winner’s trophy and all the horse prizes in this division.

Kaylene Wilson won the Best No.1, Alane Moore the Best No. 2 and Sarah Finlayson the Best No.3.

When the Clubs points were tallied at the completion of competition the Bunnan Club finished with 35 points just 3 points behind Quirindi who were named Champion Club.

Players have a weekend off now as the Dunedoo Carnival had to be postponed due to the recent rain.

Congratulations to junior players, Clancy Martin and Campbell Rose who have been selected in NSW Development Teams to play at the Cubbaroo Carnival against the USA, QLD and WA later in the season.
