Filed in Recent News by May 25, 2017

MOTHERS who run businesses or are considering starting a business are invited to attend the first Start Up Mum chapter in Scone on Monday.

Michelle Smith began Start Up Mum in 2016 on the Central Coast and since then has opened 11 chapters across Australia and generated an online community 0f 5,500 members.

“Our local chapters are a fantastic way to unite more business mums,” sad Ms Smith.

“They not only highlight the work of our mum owned businesses around Australia but also support and encourage the growth of more,” she said.

Ms Smith said research by BankWest found women are starting businesses at twice the rate of men, often part-time while raising children.

The first meeting in Scone will be held on May 29 at 12:30pm at the Nook, Campbell’s Corner, Crn Kelly Street and Liverpool Street and children are also welcome to attend.
