SCONE is bursting with equine legends and the Scone Horse Festival Committee is encouraging people to nominate them to be recognised in this year’s festival awards, with nominations closing next Friday.

There are categories for Young Achiever, VIP and and Horse of the Year, with winners being announced at a dinner on Thursday, May 2.

“Scone has a rich and vibrant equine history that is only possible thanks to the dedication and commitment of some very special people,” said Scone Horse Festival President David Gatwood.

“There are many people humbly going about their work and helping put Scone on the map as the Horse Capital of Australia, it’s important that we acknowledge these contributions and we’re asking the community to help us shine a spotlight on their efforts by nominating them for an award,” he said.

“We also want to celebrate the next generation coming through by recognising a Young Achiever and to applaud some of the outstanding horses in our district with the Horse of the Year award.  So if you know someone or a horse worthy of recognition, please take the time to put their names forward.”

Nomination forms for the awards and entry forms for the colouring competition and shop displays are available at  www.sconehorsefestival.com.au.
