Police Update: Cattle Truck Rolls

THE Scone-Bunnan Road has been reopened, after a cattle truck rolled at 9:30am approximately 20 kilometres west of Scone.

The single semi-trailer was carrying 66 young cattle, many cattle were deceased at the scene, local vets were called to euthanise some animals and the Council has been called to remove the deceased cattle.

An ambulance was called for the 44 year old driver, who appears to have suffered only minor injuries.

Further update from Police:

  • the road is now open – at approximately 3pm;
  • the truck was heading west along Bunnan Road and was negotiating a right hand bend when the driver lost control;
  • approximately 21 cattle are deceased, and
  • the driver was taken to hospital, suffering minor injuries.
