Chopper Called for Snake Bite

THE Westpac Rescue Helicopter has just left the Scott Memorial Hospital in Scone where they are retrieving a man who was bitten by a death adder snake.

The patient is a 48 year old make who was bitten below the knee and will be flown back to the helicopter base before being taken by ambulance to the Mater for further treatment.

The helicopter was originally tasked to Muswellbrook to meet the ambulance, but was conveyed to Scone hospital to receive antivenin.
