Council Says Water Safe to Drink

Filed in Recent News by January 4, 2019

BLUE green algae was detected in Murrurundi Dam yesterday at level 3 prompting Council to issue a media release, however Council say the water is still safe to drink.

The statement from Council said 70 percent of the town’s water is supplied from the emergency bore and all water is filtered through a treatment plant and tested.

The test results of microbological and algae toxicity are supplied to the NSW State Laboratory and NSW Health.

The last Algae Alert Level 3 was issued in mid-2018.
