THIS month delicious dishes from around the world will be on the menu in Scone thanks to the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre and Scone Library.

Lee Watts,  manager of the Centre said they will be celebrating Harmony Day in the community by hosting a ‘World of Food’ evening at the Scone Grammar School.

“Food brings people together and what better way to celebrate the differences in culture than by enjoying an array of food together?” said Mrs Watts.

“There are many ways to celebrate our diversity through sport, art, dance and story telling, but food is fabulous too,” she said.

“Last year’s very successful evening was attended by many people from a wide variety of backgrounds to share food such as Nepalese Chicken, South African Boototie, Singapore Noodles, curries,  meat pies and much more,” she said.

“People are encouraged to bring a dish from their culture to share, it would be great for people to come in national dress and they might even like to have a go at some Taiko Japanese drumming,” Lee Watts said.
