“The season has been very good to us and most people are holding onto their cattle, they are a good asset at the moment, so we are really grateful for the cattle which have been donated and also for the time people are taking to drove them to the draft,” said Ms Gully.

“We can’t drove them without the sponsors and volunteers and it’s not just about getting them here, they have to walk them back when it is over,” she said.

“We have about 297 runs for the weekend, more than 150 competitors who are mainly local, but there are a few coming from further afield.

“The ground is looking really good and we are looking forward to a nice sunny day, so we are really hoping lots of people will come and support the draft, support the canteen and the bar and have a great time,” she said.

“This year we will be donating more money to charity including Where There’s A Will, we’re donating a piece of equipment for Scott Memorial Hospital and we are also giving money to the local cancer support group,” Charlotte Gully said.

The first event on the day will be the encouragement draft for new people, followed by the ladies division, maiden and novice, the open and then the children.
