The concert will include a concert band, jazz band, an orchestra, choirs, dancing, home-made marimbas and a ukulele.

Janelle French, a teacher from the Upper Hunter Conservatorium has been teaching at the camp since the first camp 16 years ago and said it was a great opportunity for local children.

“They get the chance to branch into different optional activities, some years we’ve had circus skills and we want them to have an outlet for performance, ” Ms French said.

“It is also wonderful for children from smaller schools, we have children here from Ellerston and Belltrees and for them to be able to join in with 30 or 40 kids and make music is not something they would usually do,” she said.

“Hopefully the camp inspires them to continue with music and dance.

“From this camp Scone now has a regular schools concert band,” Janelle French said.
