Editorial: Election Coverage

Filed in Recent News by October 8, 2018

LEE Watts announced today that she will be running as the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party candidate for the Upper Hunter in the state election.

During Lee’s last state campaign as an independent candidate, I was her campaign manager and will once again support her during this campaign.

While I will continue to write for scone.com.au, all stories relating to the state election or Lee will be written and published on scone.com.au by Di Sneddon.

I have huge admiration for Di as a journalist and an editor.

Di is based in Singleton and has worked in the media throughout the Upper Hunter for more than 20 years.

She is someone with outstanding ethics, who is a tough, but fair reporter.

I am very thankful to Di for agreeing to cover the election for scone.com.au, so our readers can be confident of impartial reporting.

I am also honoured that Lee wanted me to be on her team; the campaign involves an incredible amount of work across a large and diverse electorate, but I admire Lee’s passion for the community enormously and her tenacity is second to none.

She was an inspiration to work with during the last campaign and I trust her dry sense of humour will once again keep her team in high spirits throughout the tough race ahead.
