George Koch and Edna Curle married at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Tenterfield on January 21, 1939.

“Mum’s sister made the dress, in those days they did a lot of sewing and a lot was hand sewn,” said Ms Barwick.

“Mum’s sister-in-law also wore it, because in those days they shared dresses,” she said.

The lace georgette applique dress is one of more than 30 dresses ranging in age from the early 1900’s to 2016, which will be part of a parade and display on Saturday in Scone coordinated by the Scott Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Country Women’s Association.

The dresses will be modeled by local teenagers, while the more fragile dresses will be on display and a slide show of the wedding dresses worn by the brides.

“The dresses range in size from 8 to 14, but the majority of the dresses are size eight, we were all little once,” laughed Helen.

Following the parade there will be a high tea and a raffle.
