Family Holiday Fun

MORE than 300 people were at the family fun day at Scone Park on Thursday to relieve some school holiday boredom.

Lee Watts, manager of the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre, said they wanted to put on a free family event to keep the children entertained and parents time to relax.

“The children really enjoyed hearing from the emergency services members and being able to get up and in the fire engine, ambulance and police van,” said Mrs Watts.

“There was a range of activities for all the kids to enjoy, Sparkles the clown entertained and children left tired with hair coloured and a range of painted faces,” she said.

“This is the second year for the annual Scone Family Fun Day organised by Scone Neighbourhood Centre in partnership with Family Insight and the Children services of the Upper Hunter Shire Council,” she said.

“Thank you to all the services that set up an activity on the day Ability Links, Upper Hunter Community Service, Amy’s school of Dance, Upper Hunter Homeless Service, Family Insight, Upper Hunter Family Day Care, ShowStoppers and the three emergency Services Police, Fire and Ambulance,” Lee Watts said.
