ON Monday at approximately 4:34am closed circuit cameras captured footage of a thief who had broken into Farram’s in Scone.

They are the fourth local business to report a break and enter in the early hours of Monday morning: Business Break-Ins.

The person gained access through breaking glass in the back door and climbing through.

Once inside they smashed the keypad of the alarm system and walked into the shop.

“When the alarm still went off it would have given him a hell of a fright, because it was right over his head,” laughed the owner of Farram’s Neil McRae.

The thief was only inside a few minutes, looked up the stairs before moving behind the register, picked up a bag from which paper dropped out of it and left.

“I think it would be good if there were more CCTV cameras around the streets, they do act as a really good deterrent,” said Mr McRae.

“Some Council’s have done it and have found it very successful in deterring vandalism and things,” he said.

Elder’s Real Estate, which was also broken into, has obtained CCTV footage of two people who where in the area at the time of the robbery and who may be able to assist police with their enquiries.
