Freezer Needed at Neighbourhood Centre

Filed in Recent News by July 14, 2017

THE Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre has a cold storage problem in the middle of winter.

There is only a small freezer to hold perishable foods for those in need and it is not big enough to hold the generously donated goods.

Lee Watts, manager of the centre needs a freezer to store the valuable donations from local businesses.

“We use the freezer to store things donated by local businesses for those in need in the community, we desperately need one so if anyone has a tall freezer to donate to the centre it would really help out, we are limited for space so unfortunately a long freezer just won’t fit,” Lee Watts said.

“Our non perishables are fantastic but it would be nice to make a childs lunch with more than a can of beans, it also enables the disadvantaged to get a better variety of foods for a healthier diet when they can’t afford it themselves,” said Lee Watts.

If you can donate one or know of someone who can please contact the centre on 02 6545 2562

Items can be donated to the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre at 130 Liverpool Street, Scone.
