Filed in Recent News by May 6, 2017

THE theme of this year’s Scone Horse parade was ‘May the Horse be with You’ and outgoing president of the Festival, Lee Watts said it was another great community event.

See gallery below…

“I thought it was fantastic the amount of effort people went to for the theme,” said Mrs Watts.

“It’s just such a lovely community event and there aren’t many towns that have parades anymore, but this community comes together to participate in the parade and take the time to watch the parade and cheer people on and this year was no exception,” Lee Watts said.

The winners and highly commended in the parade this year included:

  • Best Float: Aberdeen Public School
  • Best Horse Stud: Arrowfield Stud
  • Best Equine Entry: Australian Haflinger horse Breeders Association
  • Best School: Scone Grammar School
  • Best Junior Riders: Murrurundi and District Pony Club
  • Highly Commended: The Yellow Cottage.
