The 8th green and the tree on the 18th tee at Scone golf course

ON Saturday at Scone Golf Course the men played an 18 Hole Individual and 2B Worst Ball Stableford for the Jeff Harrington and Tony O’Neill Trophy.

The winners were Alan Wood and Steve Morse who had 31 points to win on a countback from Scott Shann and Aaron Gavin.

In a high scoring day as the course has dried out and the rough has been controlled, the best individual score of the day was by Brenan Reeves who had 43 points to win A Grade.

Scott Shann continued his good form to win B Grade with 41 points and George Campbell won C Grade with 40 points.

The NTP’s went to Matt Bailey 2.0 metres on the 2nd / 11th and to Tony O’Neill 2.62 metres on the 8th / 17th.

Tim Smith’s highlight of his round was an eagle on the 15th, hitting a wind assisted 6 iron from 195 metres and holing the putt.

This won him the Adrian Fuller sponsored eagles nest of 12 balls.

The ball winners were: Brenan Reeves 43, Scott Shann 41, George Campbell, Adam Russell 40, Aaron Gavin (visitor), Steve Morse 39, David Bradshaw, Geoff Ferguson, Kevin Thompson 37, Gordon Halliday, Derek Field, John Roe 35, Scott Lye 34, Duncan Yuille, Gary Brown and Clayton Rogers 33 on a countback.

In the ladies 18 Hole Stableford four ladies had an enjoyable morning out with Lyn Banks being the winner after she had a very good round of 39 points to beat Kerry McLennan on a countback, Kerry winning a ball.

Next Saturday, March 5 the men play an 18 Hole Stroke / Stableford for the Monthly Mug.

In the A Grade Hunter River District Pennant game on Sunday February 21, Scone played Singleton at The Vintage but went down 5 -0 with some close matches involved.

The next match is against The Vintage at Maitland on February 28.

The ladies commence their pennant season in the Hunter River District on Monday February 29 when they head to The Vintage to play Muswellbrook.
