Helping Young Drivers be Safe

Filed in Recent News by December 15, 2017

TEACHING someone how to drive can be nerve racking, so to help prepare the Roads and Maritime Services will be holding a workshop in Scone, “Helping Learner Drivers Become Safer Drivers”.

The workshop provides practical advice for supervising drivers and reinforces the role families play in providing support for young motorists in their early years of driving.

Topics such as licence conditions for learner and provisional drivers, tips for using the log book, how to give feedback and build confidence in young drivers are discussed.

After a couple of years of local court reporting the need for young drivers to be better educated and safer on our roads is brought home, but also there have been many issues with the instructor either doing something unsafe or being unaware of how unsafe their actions were. scone.com.au gets dozens of emails everyday promoting workshops in the city, but this time we approached the RMS and asked if they could run this workshop in Scone. They were more than happy to send their staff here. We really hope people take advantage of the workshop.
