Highway is Open

POLICE were called to the New England Highway between Scone and Aberdeen this morning at reports of a pedestrian being struck by a truck.

The incident was reported to police who attended the scene at 4.40am, the highway was closed with traffic being diverted around Glenbawn Dam.

The person was conveyed to John Hunter Hospital, further details are yet to be provided, the driver of the truck was taken to hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.

Road closures were lifted at 8.30am on the New England Highway.
