Highway Works Begin Monday

ON Monday road work will begin on the New England Highway at Murrurundi and near Burning Mountain, following survey work which was conducted this week.

The work will occur between Monday to Sunday from 7am until 6pm, with some work conducted outside these hours to reduce the impact on traffic.

20170210Road02Motorists can expect lane closures and reduced speed limits of 40 kilometres an hour.

The work near Burning Mountain will be between Ashbrook Road and Wrights Road and is expected to be finished in early April.

The work at Murrurundi will be approximately 1.5 kilometres north of the Pages River near Glenalvon Road and is scheduled to be complete by the end of this month.

The road will be rebuilt and strengthened, safety barriers upgraded and line marking refreshed.

Sections of the highway between Aberdeen and Willow Tree are being upgraded as part of a $25 million program of work.
