Hottest Days on Record

SCONE, Murrurundi and Merriwa all had their hottest days on record in the last two days.

Today Scone reached a top temperature of 46.5 degrees, breaking the previous hottest day on record which was yesterday’s temperature of 45.7 degrees.

Murrurundi reached 40.5 degrees today which was also the hottest day on record, breaking yesterday’s record of 40 degrees.

Merriwa experienced its hottest day on record yesterday of 45.4 degrees and today recorded 43.2 degrees.

The previous record for Merriwa was 43.8 degrees on January 18, 2013.

There is a southerly change moving towards the Upper Hunter which is expected to cool temperatures by 10 degrees.

Overnight temperatures in Scone are predicted to drop to 20 degrees and reach a high of 35 degrees tomorrow.
