THE NSW Resources Regulator has issued initial investigation information into the death of Quinton Moore at Bengalla mine.

At approximately 7:20pm on November 3 the 37 year old Scone man was fatally injured when a 2.2 tonne large earthmoving tyre fell from the tyre handler in the mine’s heavy vehicle wash bay.

Mr Moore and a fellow worker had removed the tyre from a water cart at a service bay with the tyre handler and then used the tyre handler to take the tre to the nearby wash bay for cleaning.

During this process the tyre fell and killed Mr Moore instantly.

The initial report is available on the Resources and Geoscience Australia website.
