Locals Clamber for Courses

LEE Watts manager of the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre said they have been surprised at the number of local people enrolling in the short training courses they have on offer.

“These short accredited courses are getting people jobs and I’m really excited,” said Ms Watts.

“There have been 17 people enroll for the responsible service of alcohol certificate on Monday and they have come from as far as Singleton,

“On Tuesday we have the responsible conduct of gambling certificate and there are 10 people enrolled there,” she said.

“We are also running courses in traffic control, a white card for working on construction sites and food safety handling,” she said.

Dates for current courses:

  • RSA: 9am – 4pm, Monday May 14.
  • RCG: 9am – 4pm, Tuesday, May 15.
  • Traffic Control: 9am – 4pm, Monday, May 21.
  • White Card: 9am – 4pm, Monday, May 21.
  • Food Safety Handling: 9am – 5pm, Tuesday, July 3.
