Low Flying Air Craft Alert

Filed in Recent News by November 28, 2018

THIS weekend a twin-engine Cessna Conquest will be flying low over Scone as part of safety checks by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).

The checks are conducted every three years and will include 23 regional airports throughout the state.

Corporate Air, who are subcontracted by CASA, will fly as low as several hundred feet, on the approaches to the airport and within a 35 kilometre area of the airport to identify new or unmarked obstacles.

Obstacles may be towers, trees, masts or buildings that can be a danger to aircraft and the data on the airport approach and departure is checked for accuracy.
