Martin Rush Steps Down

MARTIN Rush, Labor candidate for the Upper Hunter in the upcoming state election has stepped down following an article Sydney Morning Herald on Sunday reporting on an anonymous letter alleging Mr Rush assaulted his female flatmate in September last year.

Mr Rush has denied the allegations.

Michael Johnsen is the current member for the Upper Hunter and will recontest the seat for the National Party, while Lee Watts is the candidate for the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party.
