THE Upper Hunter Men’s Shed will hold an open day tomorrow and they invite blokes of all ages to drop by the shed.

Greg Newling, president of the Upper Hunter Men’s Shed said the shed is a place for men gather and

“Most of us are retired, but anyone who is at a bit of a loose end should come along,” said Mr Newling.

“You don’t have to come out to the shed and do anything,” he said.

“We’ve got a new TV and some blokes like to gather there, tell jokes and yarns,” he said.

“We’ve also got a few computers that people use,” said Greg Newling.

At the moment the Men’s Shed is repairing chairs from the RSL, making bookcases for the hospital and making some church pews.

Will Wallace will be a guest speaker on Thursday to talk about the Variety Club.

The Men’s Shed is open:

  • Tuesday : 8:30 – 11:30
  • Thursday: 11:30 – 2:30

The Shed is located behind the Senior Citizen’s Hall on the corner of Oxford Road and New Street, Scone.
