Mental Health Conference

Filed in Recent News by February 7, 2017

TOMORROW a mental health conference will be held in Scone to identify gaps in mental health services in the local area and discuss how organisations may bridge those gaps.

The conference was organised by Robert Thurgood and he encourages health professionals, carers, consumers and people who are interested in mental health to attend.

“There seemed to me to be a gap primarily in the area of community support around mental illness which was not something being formally covered by mental health organisations or support groups,

I saw a need to have something in the area, which of course Where There’s A Will is starting to fill for young people and the need was there I felt for the broader community and to link existing services,

“The clinical coordinator for hunter valley mental health support will be there and Inspector Jane Schultz who is the mental health liaison officer, a representative from Where There’s A Will will be there and a number of organisations from throughout the area.

  • When: 9am – 11am, Wednesday, February 8, 2017.
  • Where: Barry Rose Room, Upper Hunter Shire Council offices, 135 Liverpool Street, Scone.
