The entrance to the new office will be on Vannacher Street just around the corner from the old entrance on Bettington Street.

The new office will operate as normal for Upper Hunter Shire Council services with an expansion in New South Wales government services including the Roads and Maritime services (RMS).

The Merriwa customer service office will temporarily close from 1.30pm Thursday, April 14 until the following morning where it re-open for normal business operations at 9am Friday, April 15, there will be no Council or RMS services during this time.

Waid Crockett, Upper Hunter Shire Council general manager, is pleased staff will have a safer and more accessible area to work in.

“Residents would have noticed the renovations going on at the Merriwa Office in recent months and Council would like to thank residents for their patience during this time,” Mr Crockett said.

Mr Crockett and the staff in the office would like to show off the new facilities to the local Merriwa community upon its reopening.

“Staff are looking forward to coming together in the much improved office area and invite you to come take a look at the new facilities when they launch on Friday, April 15″, said Waid Crockett.
