Moving On Out to Moonan

Filed in Sports Recent by February 12, 2016

MORE than 1,000 head of cattle are being mustered out to the Moonan showground for the annual campdraft this weekend.

The cattle are all donated by local graziers and it is one of the only drafts in Australia where the cattle are walked to the ground for the event.

Campdrafting is the fastest growing equine sport in the country and there are more than 720 entrants participating in the Moonan campdraft from throughout east coast of Australia.

Alongside the main event will be the second ring with children’s events such as flag bending races.

The open final is scheduled to begin at approximately 6pm, with the bar open and entertainment happening late into the evening.

Entry for spectators is free.
