Neighbourhood to go Under the Hammer

Filed in Recent News by October 4, 2016

“It’s a catch 22 situation we need to offer more services which will increase our income and in the current building we don’t have the room for more services, so we need to raise money to move to a new building,” Lee Watts, manager of the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre said.

“A new building would provide many opportunities to expand the services we already offer to the community and will allow the service to invite additional outreach services to the area,” she said.

“This would generate much needed income to continue a five day a week service,” Lee Watts said.

20161004hammer01In November the Centre will hold an auction to raise money to purchase their own premises, providing some certainty for the Centre and an ability to increase services.

“I am hoping the community will support this event and join the Neighbourhood Centre team at the auction,” she said.

“This service appreciates the generosity of this community who have donated their time and or items that will go under the hammer with auctioneers Jim Callinan, Peter Sawyer and Sandy Warbutron on the night,” Lee Watts said.

Items donated for the auction to date include: a wood lathe, a visit from Santa Clause on Christmas Eve, Sparkles the Clown for a party, gym membership, operatic arias, a joy flight, insurance and mortgage review, church pews, dog training and management, advertising packages, an Apple iPad air 2 and a keg set up and ready to go for your next party.
