New Local Base for Chopper

THIS morning the Westpac Rescue Helicopter which services the Scone area, celebrated the opening of new extensions at their Tamworth base.

Richard Jones, chief executive officer of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service said the extensions are incredible improvement.

“The new additions to the base at Tamworth Airport are exceptional and we are thrilled to reveal the upgraded facility, which is now rated among the top aeromedical retrieval services in the world,” said Mr Jones.

“The hanger space is designed to house the wonderful new aircraft, plus ensure improved workflow and communication for the engineers and crew,” he said.

“The AW139 is safer, faster and travels further on one tank of fuel.

“We know how important this is for the people of the New England and North West region,” he said.

“The on-board medical capability has been described as a flying ICU and is viewed as one of the best emergency medical services platforms in the world,” Richard Jones said.
