THERE were 18 people treated for dog bites at hospitals in the Upper Hunter Shire last year, according to data from the Hunter New England Area Health Service.
The Scott Memorial Hospital in Scone treated 13 people from July 1 last year until June 30 this year and in the previous year there were 12.
At the Merriwa Multi Purpose Service there were five people treated this year and six treated in the previous year.
In Murrurundi nobody was treated for dog bites in either year.
