Former student Dr Lauren Goodde was the guest speaker at the event and spoke of the importance of public education.

“I am currently working at Wyong hospital in the emergency department and I’d like to go into general practice in the Hunter,” Dr Goodde said.

“Scone High school gave me many opportunities which I think are very unique to public education and the confidence to pursue things at University and a career in medicine,” she said.

“I think if students want to take advantage of the range of things offered at Scone High School they can do anything,” Lauren Goodde said.

The Antique and Collectables fair will raise money for air conditioning at the school.
