THE latest addition to the Yellow Cottage is a pink tank, thanks to a good natured bidding war at the pink stumps fundraiser.

Kirsty Hails, director of the Yellow Cottage said she was bidding on the tank for the preschool and while Maurice Collison won the tank, he then donated it to the Cottage.

“It was very generous of Maurice and to further contribute to the pink stumps fundraiser we had an out of uniform day, where everyone came in pink and raised $250,” said Ms Hails.

“Rod Bailey and Stuart Scott then sorted out guttering on the cubby and connected it to the tank,” she said.

“The children love filling their buckets from the tank, but they also learn we need rain to fill the tank and it teaches them about sustainability.

“We’d like to add a weather station next,” said Kirsty Hails.

The Yellow Cottage also has a worm farm, a vegetable garden and three very tolerant chooks.
