Waving Drunk

A 60 year old lady from Scone drove past police conducting random breath testing on Liverpool Street, Scone on Sunday, ignoring their signal to pull over for testing and instead gave them a wave from her black coloured CRV Honda.

The police followed the vehicle and when asked why she had failed to stop the driver explained she had not seen them until it was too late, so she just kept driving.

While speaking with the driver, police formed the opinion she was affected by alcohol and conduced a breath test which proved police correct.

Further testing was taken at the Scone police station and the breath analysis returned a mid-range reading of 0.139 grams of alcohol in 210 litres of breath.

The woman’s license was suspended and she was charged with mid-range prescribed concentration of alcohol and will appear in Scone local court on March 24.
