Break, Enter and Steal/Owens Gap:

Bunnan Rd, Owens Gap

Between 9am and 5pm on Saturday May 28 unknown people have entered a dwelling and removed a Tanaka brand petrol hole borer, a Toyota Landcruiser tongue and ball towing accessory, a 5 litre round fuel drum, a laser level tripod orange and silver coloured in a red bag and assorted clothes.

The offenders have entered the dwelling through the ground floor front door, which was closed but unsecured.

The offenders have damaged the front vehicle gate when they left the premise by forcing it in the wrong direction with a vehicle.

White marks were transferred on the gate by the vehicle used, the gate was not locked at the time.

 

Missing Person now located/Timor:

Timor Caves camping ground

Approximately 4.30am on Saturday morning May 28 a 43 year old male walked from a campsite at the Timor Caves camping area, the man had become upset with another person in his camping party and stood up and walked in to the surrounding bushland.

The other campers believed he had simply gone behind a tree to urinate and paid no further attention to his movements.

At 7.15pm that night the missing man’s fellow campers attended Murrurundi Police Station to report him as missing.

Police attended the area shortly afterwards and a brief search was conducted with the aid of the police dog unit.

A crime scene was established and preserved over night, with a more detailed search planned for daylight hours the following morning.

A briefing was conducted at 7am on Sunday May 29  involving police from Hunter Valley LAC, police rescue squad and Operations Suport Group, local SES units and Murrurundi Volunteer Rescue Association.

A search of the area failed to locate the man.

Police made enquiries at numerous locations in the Central Hunter and Newcastle LAC areas, at approximately 12pm on Sunday police received information from a friend of the missing man that he had spoken to him at an address in Rutherford on Saturday night and that he was safe and well.

On Sunday night May 29 police from Central Hunter LAC attended an address in Telarah in relation to the missing man, he did not appear to have any injuries and is no longer regarded as a missing person.
