WINGEN ACCIDENT

POLICE were called to a motor vehicle accident at approximately 2:50am this morning on the New England Highway estimated to be 15 minutes north of Wingen.

The 27 year old female driver from Calala said she had been driving from Sydney to Tamworth with her 7 year old daughter when their car was “all of a sudden the vehicle was upside down in a ditch.”

The driver said both her and her daughter were wearing seat belts at the time and managed to climb out of the vehicle through the passenger side door.

The pair were taken to the Scott Memorial Hospital in Scone for medical care, with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter being called at approximately 4am.

They were both found to have internal and chest injuries and taken to the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.

STEAL FROM MOTOR VEHICLES IN SCONE

AT approximately 5:40 am this morning a male described as being 6 foot 2 inches tall, of thin build and wearing a dark hoodie with white logo on the front and shorts was seen breaking into a car in Park Street.

The owner of the vehicle noticed the man breaking into his car which was parked out the front of his home.

When the owner walked onto his verandah to challenge the man, he ran north on Park Street and turned east in Susan Street.

The owner of the car chased the man and was gaining on him, when he yelled a threat at the owner.

At this point the owner of the car ceased chasing the man who was last seen running south on Waverley Street.

The owner of the vehicle then returned to his home and contacted police.

It is believed the man may have stolen five dollars in change.

ICE BOX THEFT IN SCONE

On Sunday at approximately 5:35pm a male described as being caucasian, of medium build, light brown hair, 5 foot 11 inches tall, aged in his late 20’s and wearing a white baseball cap, blue and white horizontal striped polo shirt, black knee length shorts and white runners walked into the cool room of Ice Box Liquor in Scone where he picked up a carton of VB stubbies and ran out of the store.

A passerby saw the man running west towards the railway line still carrying the beer.

DRINK DRIVING IN MURRURUNDI

At approximately 10:55pm on Saturday a 27 year old female from Murrurundi was driving a white Holden Colorado ute south on Mayne Street, Murrurundi when she was stopped for a random breath test.

The woman returned a positive result, was arrested and taken to Murrurundi police station for further breath analysis which returned a mid range reading of 0.101.

The woman was issued with a court attendance notice for November 24 in Scone Court and her licence was suspended.
