Pool Compliance Reminder

Filed in Recent News by April 21, 2016

PEOPLE selling or leasing a property with a pool or spa are reminded a new law comes into effect on April 29, which requires them to have a valid certificate of compliance or an occupation certificate for the pool.

Owners can request Council inspect their pool which will cost $150 for the first inspection and $100 if a re-inspection is needed.

If the pool already has an occupation certificate it is exempt from inspection for three years from the date the certificate was issued.

There are an estimated 800 swimming pools in the Upper Hunter Shire area, with Council conducting approximately 150 inspections each year.

More details are available on the Office of Local Government website: www.olg.nsw.gov.au/public/my-home/swimming-pools
