Preparing to Have a Ball

THE official launch for the Horse Festival is on Thursday, but the Festival Ball on Friday night will be the springboard for the community into all the Festival has to offer.

David Gatwood, committee member of the Scone Horse Festival said the Ball was growing into a great community celebration.

“It’s an opportunity for people to dress up, have a great night out, come together and really celebrate the fact that we are about to enjoy the Horse Festival,” said Mr Gatwood.

“It’s a very diverse crowd we’ve had people come up from Sydney and have the ball as the beginning of enjoying the Festival and going to the parade the following day and often stay for four or five days and of course there are the core group of people who are the locals and it’s a very inclusive night that we celebrate as a community,” he said.

“And it’s ok if you don’t have a monkey suit, if you want to dress formally great, but also you can wear a lounge suit and the ladies love to frock up for the evening,” he said.

“There is a nice three course meal, bottled wine on the table, luck door prize, live entertainment from the Hot Tub Time Machine and when the music starts pumping people are in party mode,” David Gatwood said.
