THE Terrigal Haven Probus Club visited Scone over the last three days with 34 of it’s members after 6 months of planning by Terrigal Haven Probus member Brian Heggerty with the assistance of Lee Watts and the Neighbourhood Resource Center.

Mr Heggerty organised the trip after wanting to see an equine hospital and Belltrees.

“Probus is an offshoot of Rotary for people that are retired and is generally to arrange trips, in this case we had a three day trip to Scone and we visited various places including the equine hospital, Belltrees and Cressfield where we had a barbeque,” said Mr Heggerty.

“I wanted to involve the local community in so it added a bit of a heart throb to the trip, 6 months ago I investigated having a barbeque in Scone and somebody suggested I contact Lee Watts at the Neighbourhood Center.

“Between the two of us we organised a barbeque at Cressfield Stud, it was just a great night, Lee did a great job, we had the head of the police, the general manager of the race course, the mayor of course and Lee Watts the ex mayor too, it was a highly charged event.

“You have won some fans up there, it was unbelievable, I will certainly be passing it on to other Probus Clubs,” Brian Heggerty said.

Lee Watts of the Scone Neighbourhood Recourse Centre helped organise the barbeque and was thankful for the support.

“I would like to thank JBS for donating the meat for the event and their ongoing support at the centers community events,” Lee Watts said.
