Lee Watts, manager of the Centre estimates they raised more than $15,000 at the event.

“It was a great night and the community support was just fantastic,” said Mrs Watts.

“The Centre provides so many services to the community, but is really struggling, I’ve made the decision that I will now work a day for free, so that we can keep the service open on the budget we have,” she said.

“I am passionate about the local community and what we do and it was great to see so much community support,” she said.

“So many local businesses contributed great items for the auction and the Scone Singers donated their performance on the night as well as to a lucky bidder,” she said.

“The most popular items at the auction were three church pews and a ride in a police car,” she said.

“The ride in the police car will go to a young girl who wants to be a police officer so that was nice to see,” Lee Watts said.

The staff of the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre are trying to raise funds to purchase a premises and expand the services they provide to the community.

If you would like to make a donation you visit the Centre at 130 Liverpool Street, Scone or go online: Donate to the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre.
