Rainfalls and Weather Forecast

THERE were patches of rain in the Upper Hunter during the weekend, with the Bureau of Meteorology recording the following totals:

24 hours until 9am on Saturday:

  • Scone: 16.4ml
  • Merriwa: 3.4ml
  • Murrurundi: 6.8ml

24 hours until 9am on Sunday:

  • Murr: 0.4ml
  • Scone: 3.6ml
  • Merriwa: 0ml

There will be a  warmer front moving through the southern parts of the state bringing strong northerly winds ahead of the front and ramping up temperatures over Tuesday and Wednesday.

Due to the drought conditions there may be dust brought in with the winds and with hot windy conditions predicted residents are advised to stay up to date with fire warnings.

There is a high pressure system moving in after the warm front, which will bring settled conditions for the end of the week, however the front is not expected to bring any rain for the Upper Hunter.

The predicted temperatures in Scone for the rest of the week are as follows:

  • Monday: 36
  • Tuesday: 39
  • Wednesday: 35
  • Thursday: 30
  • Friday: 32
  • Saturday: 31
  • Sunday: 34
