Red Cross Volunteers Honoured

FLORENCE Thomas was honoured this week for her 26 years of service to the Aberdeen-Rouchel branch of the Australian Red Cross, with an outstanding service award.

Mrs Thomas has served as a liaison officer and is currently the Club Patron.

Lee Watts, who attended the ceremony described Mrs Thomas as an outstanding member of the community.

“Flo is very generous with her personal time and commitment to the club. She became the president when it was a branch and saved it from closing,” said Mrs Watts.

“She was the driving force when the branch participated in the Anzac day march in Aberdeen and she is an outstanding member of our community,” she said.

Geida Glasby was also honoured for her service with a Distinguised Award.
